Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about your shareable maps
What is Helpen?
Helpen is a new philanthropic suite of tools to help funders identify nonprofits and the communities they're transforming. A shareable map is the tool to empower nonprofits and take control of making sure funders get important information.
What are these maps used for?
These shareable maps are a tool for nonprofits to communicate quickly and clearly to potential funders the communities they're transforming and the change they're making.
How long does it take to create a map from start to finish?
Less than 30 minutes! Sign up your organization. Load up locations and impact information. Generate a map and you're good to go. Note: You can bulk upload data (10+ locations), but will take about 24 hrs for the information to be loaded into the system.
Can we create more than one map?
You sure can! We know sometimes you want to communicate your impact at the local and global levels. Once you upload your locations, you can create a map and select exactly which locations you want showing for that map. Perfect for providing custom maps to funders like community foundations.
What is the Foundation Plan?
Capacity building support. We offer large discounts for Community and Grantmaking Foundations to purchase map subscriptions in bulk so they can equip local nonprofits with the tools they need to communicate clearly to funders.
How many locations can we upload?
As many as you like! As mentioned, you can bulk upload data once you sign up.
What are the SDGs and do we need to report them?
SDGs or Sustainable Development Goals are a set of 17 goals set by the UN to achieve by 2030. Many nonprofits are starting to report them. We have the ability to add whichever you report, but you are not required to report any SDGs.
We've got some questions. Who do we contact?
Just head over to our contact page and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
